Moses Moody Commits to Golden State Warriors with a Lucrative Contract Extension

Golden State Warriors’ prodigy, Moses Moody, has inked a three-year, $39 million rookie contract extension with the team, according to an announcement by Rich Paul, CEO of Klutch Sports, on Sunday night.

Negotiations Lead to Impressive Deal

The concluding stages of Moody’s rookie contract, which he signed subsequent to his selection as the No. 14 pick in the 2021 draft, saw intense negotiations between Warriors officials and Paul. These efforts have paid off, as Moody continues to evolve into a core member of the Warriors, showcasing his reliability and talent throughout this year’s training camp.

Moody’s Enhanced Role in the Upcoming Campaign

Throughout the training camp, Moody has demonstrated such significant improvement that he is predicted to shoulder an increased role in the forthcoming Warriors’ season. Steve Kerr, the team’s coach, has been particularly impressed by Moody’s growth and potential.

Moody’s Promising Performance

In the previous season, Moody set new personal records in various aspects – scoring an average of eight points, playing for 17.5 minutes in 66 games, and achieving career highs in rebounds, steals, and blocks. Kerr, at the end of the season, expressed his desire to see Moody become more assertive, especially in catch-and-shoot situations.

Moody’s preseason performance was equally laudable, with an average of 15.5 points in 20 minutes, including three starts. His shooting accuracy stood at 45.6% from the field and 39.4% from the 3-point line, based on an average of 5.5 attempts.

Steve Kerr’s Praise for Moody

Steve Kerr has not been shy to express his admiration for Moody’s considerable growth during training camp and preseason. “He’s playing great,” Kerr commented. “He’s gotten so much better in so many ways. We’ve always loved his character, his work ethic. This is the most confidence he’s played with.”

While Kerr confirmed that Moody is destined to play a substantial role for the team, he also acknowledged the wealth of talent within the squad. “But so are a lot of other guys,” Kerr added. “We’re sitting in that coaches room every day saying: ‘How are we going to play all these guys?’ Because they all deserve to play. I’ve asked all of them to play their hardest, make it difficult for us.”
