Aleksander Barkov, the esteemed captain of the Florida Panthers, gave his hometown fans a stellar performance, contributing a goal and three assists as the Panthers bested the Dallas Stars 6-4 on Friday evening. It was a night of Finnish finesse as players from Finland dominated the game.

Barkov wasn’t the only Finnish player to shine in this encounter. Anton Lundell and Niko Mikkola added to the Panthers’ tally with a goal and an assist, respectively. Meanwhile, Aaron Ekblad was a crucial playmaker for the Panthers, providing three essential assists that contributed to their fourth consecutive victory. Barkov’s goal marked him as the sixth European player to score in his hometown in a regular-season game played outside North America. He joins the illustrious ranks of Patrik Laine (Tampere), Tomas Hertl (Prague), Niklas Kronwall (Stockholm), Fredrik Claesson (Stockholm), and Johnny Oduya (Stockholm).

Reinhart’s Remarkable Record

Sam Reinhart, who has now netted nine goals this season, scored his third short-handed goal. This is particularly noteworthy as 11 teams entered Friday without a single short-handed goal this season. Since the beginning of last season, no one in the NHL has scored more power-play goals (29) or short-handed goals (eight) than Reinhart.
