Mathurin and Co. Propel Pacers to Victory over Magic

In a thrilling display of basketball, Bennedict Mathurin led the scoreboard with 20 points, with four of his teammates contributing 17 points apiece. The Indiana Pacers emerged victorious against the Orlando Magic, securing a 118-111 win on Wednesday night. In a nail-biting finish, Tyrese Haliburton of the Pacers sunk a 3-pointer and Mathurin added two more from the free-throw line in the final minute. Six of the nine Pacers players tallied double digits in scoring.

Indiana Pacers: Sharing is Winning

The Pacers saw Haliburton, Myles Turner, Pascal Siakam, Jarace Walker, and T.J. McConnell putting up impressive numbers. McConnell added 15 to the team’s tally, with Haliburton, Turner, Siakam, and Walker each contributing 17 points. Orlando’s Franz Wagner, however, outscored everyone with 28 points. Orlando’s Jalen Suggs notched up 15 and Moritz Wagner came off the bench to add 14.

Orlando Magic: A Tough Road Ahead

The Magic suffered their fifth consecutive loss in this challenging away game series. Their last taste of victory was against the Pacers on home turf on October 28. Suggs, who usually averages 17.6 points per game, had a quiet night with just two points in the first 19 minutes.

A Turnaround for the Pacers

Following a slow 1-3 start to the season, the Pacers have found their groove, winning three of their last four games. Their success can be attributed to their improved ball distribution and a faster game tempo. Haliburton’s return to his All-Star form after recovering from a back injury also played a crucial role.

Turning Point: Pacers’ 16-6 Run

With the scores at 97-96 in favor of the Magic and 8:45 left on the clock, the Pacers turned the tables with a 16-6 run in just over four minutes. Contributions came from Turner, who hit a 3-pointer and a dunk, and Haliburton, who landed a 3-pointer and a layup. The Magic couldn’t regain the lead.

Walker Shines with Career-Best Performance

Jarace Walker, a sophomore in the league, established a new career-high in points, making all seven of his shots, including three 3-pointers. He also added six rebounds to his tally.

Next on the Agenda

The Magic will try to break their losing streak when they host New Orleans this Friday, while the Pacers will travel to Charlotte on the same day for their next match.
