Bo Horvat Reaches 30 Goals for Fourth Time in Impressive NHL Career

Vancouver Canucks

The 2025–26 season has brought its share of challenges for the Vancouver Canucks, yet it has been a different story for some of their former stars. Among them is Bo Horvat, the former Canucks captain, who has reached the 30-goal milestone for the fourth time in his NHL career.

Horvat’s journey to this achievement began during his time with the Canucks, where he first hit the 30-goal mark in the 2021–22 season, netting 31 goals in 70 games. The following season saw him achieve a career-high of 31 goals in just 49 games with Vancouver before he was traded to the New York Islanders. There, he added seven more goals in 30 games, solidifying his scoring reputation. Since joining the Islanders, Horvat has scored over 30 goals in two of the past three seasons, with the exception of the 2024–25 season, where he tallied 28 goals.

In his third full season with the Islanders, Horvat reached the 30-goal mark once again during a 2–1 victory against the Dallas Stars on Thursday night. This goal extended his current point streak to five games, marking the second time this season he has enjoyed a streak of that length. Over the course of March, Horvat has been particularly productive, racking up six goals and five assists in 13 games, while only being held pointless in three outings.

His recent success comes on the heels of his debut at the Winter Olympic Games with Team Canada, where he scored two goals in six games. Before facing a couple of injuries in December and January, Horvat had been on a strong pace, scoring 19 goals in 31 games, averaging .612 goals per game. His 30th goal now places him in a tie with Zach Hyman and Connor Bedard for the 27th most goals in the NHL this season, a ranking that could have been higher had he maintained his health throughout the year.

Currently, Horvat and the Islanders are entrenched in a fierce battle for the Eastern Conference’s wildcard spots. As it stands, the Islanders occupy the final wildcard position with 87 points from 73 games, closely pursued by the Ottawa Senators, who trail by just one point with a game in hand.
