George McPhee Honored with 2026 Lou Lamoriello Award for Hockey Excellence

His executive career saw him make significant strides with the Vancouver Canucks, Washington Capitals, and New York Islanders, eventually leading him to his current role in Las Vegas.

Since July 13, 2016, McPhee has served as the inaugural General Manager and President of Hockey Operations for the Golden Knights. His leadership was pivotal during the team’s remarkable inaugural season, which earned him the NHL General Manager of the Year Award in 2018. Although he transitioned out of the GM role in September 2019, he continued to shape the franchise’s direction as President of Hockey Operations, culminating in a Stanley Cup victory in 2023.
