Pierre-Edouard Bellemare, the former Philadelphia Flyers forward, has officially retired from professional hockey after two seasons with HC Ajoie in Switzerland’s National League. Now, he is embarking on an exciting new chapter in his career.
The Tampa Bay Lightning have announced Bellemare’s appointment as their new player development specialist. This role allows him to return to an organization he knows well, having played for the Lightning during the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons.
Bellemare’s journey in the NHL began with the Flyers, where he played three seasons from 2014-15 to 2016-17. Over 237 games with Philadelphia, he tallied 17 goals and 17 assists, contributing to a total of 34 points while also registering 259 hits. His time with the Flyers concluded when he was claimed by the Vegas Golden Knights during the 2017 NHL Expansion Draft.
Throughout his ten-season NHL career, Bellemare participated in 700 games, accumulating 64 goals, 74 assists, and 138 points, alongside 615 hits and a plus-22 rating. His wealth of experience will undoubtedly benefit the Lightning in his new role.
