Granato’s journey with the Canucks began in February 2022 when she was hired by former president of hockey operations Jim Rutherford. This came after she made history as the NHL’s first female scout with the Seattle Kraken. A celebrated athlete, Granato was the captain of the U.S. women’s hockey team that famously defeated Canada to secure gold at the 1998 Nagano Olympics.

The Canucks have been undergoing a major overhaul in their front office. This includes the appointment of Johnson as general manager and the hiring of franchise legends Henrik and Daniel Sedin as co-presidents of hockey operations, all in response to a challenging season that saw the team finish last in the overall NHL standings.
