Brad Lauer Joins Hockey Canada as Assistant Coach for 2027 World Junior Championships

Hockey Canada has made a significant addition to its coaching staff for the upcoming 2027 World Junior Championships, announcing that former New York Islanders forward Brad Lauer will take on the role of assistant coach. Lauer, who was drafted by the Islanders in the second round of the 1985 NHL Entry Draft, spent a substantial portion of his playing career on Long Island, showcasing his skills in six of his nine NHL seasons.

During his time with the Islanders, Lauer made a notable impact, notching 98 points, which included 38 goals and 60 assists over the course of 259 regular-season games. His playoff performances were equally commendable, as he added eight points, with five goals and three assists, in 15 postseason contests for the Blue & Orange.
