Calgary Flames Players Featured in NHL.com’s Top 250 Fantasy Rankings for 2026-27

As the countdown to the 2026-27 NHL season approaches the 70-day mark, fantasy hockey enthusiasts are already strategizing their rosters. NHL.com has released its Top 250 fantasy player rankings, and only five Calgary Flames players made the cut. Given the team’s ongoing rebuild and the departure of star Blake Coleman, it’s not surprising that the Flames’ representation in the rankings is limited.

Notably, none of the Flames players cracked the Top 50, Top 100, or even the Top 150. The first Calgary player to appear on the list is newly acquired defenseman Simon Nemec, ranked at 190. Last season, Nemec notched 11 goals and 26 points in 68 games with the New Jersey Devils, finishing as the second-highest-scoring defenseman on the team, trailing only Luke Hughes. However, he also recorded a minus-11 rating, which was the fifth-worst on the roster.

At 221st overall, Zayne Parekh made his debut in the rankings. The 20-year-old defenseman played 37 games for the Flames last year, scoring four goals and adding nine points, alongside a minus-9 rating. His performance with the Calgary Wranglers was more promising, where he accumulated five points in four games. Heading into the upcoming season, Parekh is expected to serve as a bottom-pairing defenseman, biding his time for a breakout opportunity.

Just a few spots down the list, at No. 234 and No. 235, are former 20-goal scorer Matt Coronato and 20-year-old Matvei Gridin. Coronato, who led the Flames in scoring last season with 18 goals and 45 points in 80 games, outpaced captain Mikael Backlund by two points. After a breakout season in 2024-25, Coronato faced a regression as the Flames struggled offensively.

Gridin, meanwhile, had his first taste of NHL action last year, contributing six goals and 20 points in 37 games, mirroring his performance in the AHL with the Wranglers. With 10 goals and 30 points in total, Gridin is poised for a larger role in the Flames’ lineup as they continue their rebuilding efforts, currently projected as a top-line winger.

Lastly, goaltender Dustin Wolf rounds out the Flames’ representation on the NHL.com list. The young netminder experienced his first losing season, finishing with a 23-29-3 record and leading the NHL in losses. Despite previously elevating Calgary’s performance, Wolf’s record now stands at 60-52-12 over 128 games, reflecting the challenges faced by the team as a whole.
