Dynamic Duo Tatum and Pritchard Power Celtics to Consecutive Victory Over Hornets

Jayson Tatum netted 29 points, while Payton Pritchard contributed 22, including six from downtown, propelling the Boston Celtics to a 113-103 victory against the Charlotte Hornets. The game, held at the Spectrum Center on Saturday, marked the second night in a row the Celtics overpowered the Hornets.

White Provides Strong Support as Celtics Soar

Derrick White chipped in 18 points and nabbed eight rebounds for the Celtics, who had previously outclassed the Hornets 124-109 the night before. This win takes Boston’s early-season record to an impressive 6-1.

Charlotte’s standout player, LaMelo Ball, broke the 30-point threshold for the fourth occasion this season, securing 36 points on 15-of-26 shooting. However, he fouled out for the second consecutive game.

Brandon Miller’s Return and Tatum’s Free Throw Proficiency

In his comeback from a strained glute, Brandon Miller managed to pocket 16 points. Tatum, despite struggling from the three-point line with just one successful shot from nine attempts, nailed 14 of 17 free throws.

The game proceeded without any major incidents, unlike Friday’s clash where Boston’s Grant Williams received a flagrant-two foul and subsequent ejection after colliding with Tatum at midcourt.

Celtics Depth Shines, Hornets Struggle with Foul Trouble

With Jaylen Brown sidelined by a hip flexor strain, the Celtics’ depth was tested. However, they responded superbly, building an early 19-point lead in the second quarter. White elevated his scoring, and Jrue Holiday consistently delivered critical plays.

For the Hornets, LaMelo Ball’s foul troubles continued. He picked up two quick fouls and was swiftly substituted, forced to watch from the sidelines as the Celtics established a commanding 21-9 lead in the first quarter.

Turning Point and Key Statistic

The Hornets began the third quarter with fervor, but Holiday’s timely three-pointer extinguished their momentum, and Boston quickly reestablished a hefty lead. The Celtics also dominated the boards, outrebounding the Hornets 44-34, with Charlotte missing top centers Mark Williams and Nick Richards.

What’s Next for Both Teams?

The Celtics are set to continue their road trip, heading down Interstate-85 for a Monday night showdown with Atlanta. Meanwhile, the Hornets will aim to bounce back against Minnesota, also on Monday night.
