Colin White Joins New Jersey Devils with One-Year Contract

Colin White is set to embark on a new chapter in his hockey career after signing a one-year, two-way contract with the New Jersey Devils for the 2026-27 season. The deal, which carries a $900,000 cap hit at the NHL level, marks a fresh start for the former Montreal Canadiens forward.

White’s tenure with the Canadiens was brief; he played in 17 games during the 2023-24 season but struggled to make an impact, finishing without any points, along with 11 hits and a minus-3 rating. His time with the Original Six franchise came to an end during the 2024 NHL off-season when he opted for an AHL contract with the San Jose Sharks organization.

After a season with the Sharks, where he saw limited NHL action in three games without registering any points, White found his stride with the San Jose Barracuda. In 46 games last season, he showcased his offensive abilities by netting 21 goals and adding 27 assists for a total of 48 points.
