Eduards Tralmaks’ brief stint with the Detroit Red Wings has come to an end as he signs a contract in Czechia. The forward, who joined the Red Wings last March on a one-year, two-way deal for the 2025-26 season, has made it clear that he remains open to a return to North America if the right opportunity arises.
In his own words, Tralmaks stated, “I’ll be ready, I have a signed contract in Czechia, however, if an NHL offer comes my way, I can still consider it and go back to the NHL.” He added that this transition period is crucial, saying, “This is the month when hockey ends and agent work begins. I think that in a month and a half we’ll see where I’ll be in the future.”
During his time with the Grand Rapids Griffins, Tralmaks played in 64 regular-season games, finishing fourth in team scoring with 26 goals and 16 assists. His offensive contributions were instrumental in helping the Griffins secure a playoff spot for the first time in decades, clinching their berth in February. His 26 goals ranked second on the team, just behind John Leonard’s impressive 33.
Tralmaks also showcased his skills in the postseason, registering four goals in eight Calder Cup Playoff games. Prior to his tenure with the Red Wings, he had a standout season with Rytíři Kladno in the Czech Extraliga, where he led his team with 23 goals and 28 assists, amassing a total of 51 points—more than any player in the Czech top league.
With previous experience in North America, including a collegiate career at the University of Maine and time with the Providence Bruins in the AHL, Tralmaks has built a diverse hockey background. He also played for the EHL’s Boston Jr. Bandits and the USHL’s Chicago Steel, making him a well-rounded prospect as he navigates his next steps.
