The Golden Knights showcased their offensive firepower once again, defeating the Chicago Blackhawks 4-0 on Saturday night. Pavel Dorofeyev was the standout performer, netting two goals and contributing an assist, solidifying his impact on the game.
Equally impressive was goaltender Adin Hill, who registered his first shutout of the season, stopping all 21 shots he faced. This marks a significant achievement for Hill, as it was his first shutout in over a year, with the last one coming on March 13, 2025, in a similar 4-0 victory against Columbus.
The scoring for the Golden Knights was rounded out by Rasmus Andersson and Keegan Kolesar, both of whom found the back of the net, helping the team build on their recent success after a commanding 6-2 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins just days prior.
With this victory, Vegas reclaimed the top spot in the standings with 76 points, edging out the Anaheim Ducks by a single point. The Ducks, who lost 2-0 to Ottawa earlier in the evening, now find themselves closely followed by the Edmonton Oilers, who sit just one point behind.
Andersson’s goal, his 12th of the season and second with the Knights, came at 11:35 in the first period and was followed by a memorable staredown that sent a clear message to their opponents. This victory also marked the fifth consecutive game where the Golden Knights have not allowed a goal in the first period, a trend that has Coach Bruce Cassidy encouraged.
“We’ve changed our pregame routine a little bit, our morning skate we’ve done a little bit differently,” Cassidy noted. “I don’t know if that has any effect … to be honest, it’s just something to get their attention. Obviously, we are doing something better. I think the players have better focus; maybe those tweaks have helped them focus. We’re not chasing the game as much, and it’s a lot easier to play that way.”
As the Golden Knights continue their four-game homestand, they are looking to build on this momentum as they prepare for their next challenge against the Blackhawks.
