Tyler Huntley To Take Charge as Miami Dolphins’ Starting Quarterback

In a recent announcement, Mike McDaniel, the head coach of the Miami Dolphins, declared that Tyler Huntley would be the starting quarterback in the upcoming Monday night game against the Tennessee Titans. The decision to assign “Snoop” Huntley to the role was made after Skylar Thompson succumbed to a rib injury during the previous week’s loss to the Seattle Seahawks.

Thompson and Boyle’s Roles

Although Thompson may be available as a contingency quarterback for Monday’s game, McDaniel stated that Tim Boyle would be the main backup for Huntley.

After Tua Tagovailoa was put on injured reserve due to a concussion, the Dolphins signed Huntley from the Baltimore Ravens’ practice squad last week. The former Pro Bowler, who grew up in South Florida, is embracing the chance to lead his local team, despite the challenge of quickly mastering a complex offense.

Huntley’s Professional Track Record

Huntley, who has started nine games in four seasons, all for the Ravens, has thrown for 1,957 yards and eight touchdowns against seven interceptions. Additionally, he has 503 rushing yards and three touchdowns. He earned a Pro Bowl nomination in 2022 after leading the Ravens to the playoffs, substituting for Lamar Jackson in four games.

His teammates have acknowledged Huntley’s ability to enhance plays with his athleticism, which they believe could invigorate the team’s offense.
