Expert Predictions for Week 4 of the 2024 NFL Season

Propelling Forward: Expert Predictions for Week 4 of the 2024 NFL Season

Week 4 Predictions: A Steady Climb to Success

After a slow start, I am now in full swing as the NFL season takes shape. As we look ahead to Week 4, we aim to leverage injuries, weather conditions, and a couple of less-than-stellar games. Let’s dive in! The odds mentioned are current at the time of publication.

Key Quarterback Stats for Week 4

Justin Fields: More than 174.5 Passing Yards (-135)

While Fields isn’t renowned for his passing capabilities, nor is his offensive coordinator, the ex-Bear nonetheless posted his highest passing total so far this season in Week 3 (245 yards). His improving statistics since Week 1 suggest he’s settling into his new team. The 2024 season is still young, and it’s not too late to get in on the fantasy football action.

In Week 4, Fields is expected to keep the momentum going, aided by a favorable matchup. With the Indianapolis Colts missing both starting DE Kwity Paye and slot corner Kenny Moore, Fields and receiver Calvin Austin III could have an open field. Even though this game’s spread doesn’t forecast a high-scoring affair, Fields’ 2023 average of 197 passing yards per game suggests he could post similar numbers this Sunday.

Kyler Murray: 275+ Combined Passing and Rushing Yards (Even)

I’ll discuss why Marvin Harrison Jr. is one to watch in Week 4, but his QB, Murray, is also set to shine! The same analysis I’ll lay out for Harrison against Washington’s porous defense applies here too.

Even though Washington hasn’t given up many rushing yards to QBs this season, they haven’t faced any notable rushing quarterbacks yet. Murray has consistently rushed for at least 45 yards in each game this season and should exploit Washington’s weak secondary through the air. With the highest implied total of 48.5 in Week 4, I’m confident in backing Murray to exceed this number.

Running Back Predictions for Week 4

Zack Moss: Over 49.5 Rushing Yards (-135), Anytime TD (-135)

Moss seems to have gained the upper hand as the Cincinnati Bengals’ RB1. With an average of 14 touches per game and his best rushing performance of the season under his belt, he’s seventh in red zone carries (11) with three of those occurring at the goal line. Given the Bengals’ matchup against the Carolina Panthers, who have allowed the sixth-most rushing yards to opposing RBs, Moss is likely to exceed 55 rushing yards and score a touchdown during Week 4.

Wide Receiver Predictions for Week 4

Marvin Harrison Jr.: Over 69.5 Receiving Yards (-130), Anytime TD (-120)

The Washington Commanders’ defense has been notably weak, allowing at least 80 receiving yards to a wide receiver in each of their first three games. This provides a prime opportunity for Marvin Harrison Jr. in Week 4. With Trey McBride ruled out due to concussion, the target pool narrows, increasing the likelihood of a huge WR game for Harrison.

Tyreek Hill: Over 49.5 Receiving Yards (-135)

Despite a dip in Hill’s receiving totals over the past two games, he has a history of bouncing back. The absence of Chidobe Awuzie from the opposition should further bolster his chances. Although L’Jarius Sneed poses a challenge, Hill has previously managed at least 60 receiving yards in similar matchups.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba: Over 49.5 Receiving Yards (-105)

The Detroit Lions have struggled to contain WRs this season, and Smith-Njigba could benefit from this. The Lions have given up the most yards to WRs this season and they have been particularly vulnerable in the slot, where Smith-Njigba typically aligns. Given his 84% snap share, and the favorable matchup, we’re confident in Smith-Njigba surpassing this mark in Week 4.
